The New York office of Alston & Bird LLP is conducting a search for a Real Estate group paralegal with 3+ years of experience with a strong background in reviewing titles and survey documents. This paralegal will assist attorneys in all stages of real estate transactions, closings and with the preparation of documents necessary to comply with federal, state, and local regulations in the conduct of business activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, team player, and possess strong organizational skills. Last-minute overtime is sometimes needed to meet client deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO

• Assist attorneys on commercial real estate financing transactions.

• Conduct thorough title and survey reviews and prepare summaries for attorney and client review.

• Facilitate deal closing procedures for transactions by preparing and organizing binders.

• Support attorneys in managing timelines and coordinating closings.

• Work directly with attorneys and clients during due diligence.

• Assist attorneys with drafting initial draft loan documents, document maintenance, formatting, signature pages, memorandums, correspondence, and indexing.

• Draft and revise closing checklists, escrow instructions, and closing binders. • Support attorneys in managing timelines and coordinating closings.

SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCESSFUL 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong self-motivation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Availability to work a minimum of four days per week in-office, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively through spoken word to convey and exchange information.

  • Capable of receiving and interpreting detailed verbal instructions and information.

  • Frequent repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and fingers.

  • Physical activities may include crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

  • Primarily a sedentary role, with prolonged periods of sitting.

The salary range for this position  is $80,000 to $110,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of the posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidates experience and qualifications. This range is specific to our NYC office and may not be applicable to other locations.
