Corewell Health Orthopedics West is seeking a full-time Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic team serving patients for our nationally recognized High Performing US News and World Reports Orthopedic Department. This role offers a unique blend of clinical and surgical responsibilities, providing comprehensive orthopedic care in multiple settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily to provide coverage in the Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic (WIC) on the Lakeshore with occasional secondary Ortho Urgent Care coverage in Grand Rapids.

  • Deliver patient care in the Orthopedic Lakeshore Clinics

  • Assist in surgical procedures in the Operating Room (OR) Lakeshore

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Orthopedic APP.

  • Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. (See below)

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position.

  • First assist call rotation: 1 in 8 weekends and 4 nights (Monday – Thursday) 1 week a month.

  • Office call rotation: 1 in 5.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Orthopedic APP to work in a collaborative environment with a strong focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Physician Assistant

  • Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program

  • LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required

  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required

    Nurse Practitioner

    • Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission

    • 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience Required

    • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role Required

    • Experience as a Nurse Practictioner Preferred

    • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

    • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

    • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or

    • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

    • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required

    • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
