PA/NP - Family Medicine Weekender - Rockford, MI

Enjoy working in a primary care practice but the traditional hours do not support your busy personal schedule Monday through Friday?  Come join our incredible Rockford Primary Care team for a unique opportunity to work weekends in Primary Care and enjoy your weekdays off to support your personal schedule.  This new program offers premium pay, full-time benefits, no on-call obligation, and reduced in basket work.

Rockford Primary Care is looking for an experienced (2+ years primary care experience) Part Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their busy practice caring for patients across the generational spectrum. Schedule:  Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Saturday & Sunday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm week.  These are set days due to space constraints and cannot be modified. 

  • We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work part-time but receive full-time benefits. 
  • Providers in this role would be expected to support the practice in basket on the weekends i.e., when not seeing patients, they are completing in basket work for the practice.
  • Compensation and scheduled hours for the weekend-only role are intentionally aligned with the expectations and commitment of this position. 
  • Weekend providers are NOT required to participate in the call rotation
  • Weekend providers MUST attend the monthly provider meetings

Practice currently has 12 physicians and 8 Advanced Practice Providers.  Team-based care is supplemented with social work, behavioral health, care managers, pharmacist, and medical assistants working one-to-one with the physicians and APPs.

 Qualifications: 

Nurse Practitioner: 

  • Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission 
  • 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience 
  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner 
  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan  
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)  
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)  
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)  

Physician Assistant: 

  • Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program 
  • LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan 
  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants  
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)  
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)  
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
