Major Duties:
Qualifications: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. WG-08 This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1.) Work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions, and at times, under guidance of a higher graded Painter. 2.) Prepare aircraft, engines, ground support equipment and components for finish. 3.) Prepare aircraft, engines, ground support equipment and components for finish using various chemicals, detergents, and solvents in conjunction with high pressure steam and water. 4.) Perform, by detailed instructions, strip operations such as, chemical, and plastic media blasting, masking, applying chemical conversion to bare substrates, identifying various types of corrosion and treat in accordance with technical information. 5.) Mix and apply various paints/proper finishes to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assemblies, and/or subassemblies. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. WG-05 This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
