Major Duties:

  • This position is located in the Production Trades Division, Industrial Execution Department at the Fleet Readiness Center.
  • You will apply protective and decorative paint finishes to aircraft, aircraft components and accessories, equipment, engine components and other similar equipment.

Qualifications: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: Preparing aircraft, engines, group support equipment, or other similar equipment and components for finish; Stripping, painting, and processing of workload inducted into facility; Able to work well with others and take direction from Supervisors and Crew Leads; Familiar with and capable of performing spray paint work; Referencing paint related aircraft blueprints, sketches, technical directives, schematics, and manuals; Communicating effectively with paint shop management, shop artisans, and employees.
