$40.30 - $60.45Major Responsibilities:
Performance of the principle duties and responsibilities of the RN position and serves as a role model for professional practice.
1)Evaluates environmental safety and provides an environment that is safe based on age and developmental status.
2)Maintains unit, hospital, and management based competencies.
3)Demonstrates appropriate psychosocial intervention based on age and devleopmental status
In collaboration with the clinical manager, manges patient care delivery to optimize patient outcomes, customer satisfaction and resource management.
2)Supports the development of the plan of care throught collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
3)Oversees staffing and scheduling, in collaboration with the manager. Assures cost-effective methodology.
4)Participates in the interviewing, hiring and competency assessment in conjunction with the clinical manager.
5)Monitors customer sataisfaction, in collaboration with the manger, shares results with staff and inproves in target areas.
6)Monitors associate satisfaction and addresses issues or concerns, to assure resolution.
7)Assumes responsibilites in the absence of the clinical manager, in conjunction with the director
1)Serves as a clinical resource and mentor for staff. Takes leadership role in the educaton of unit staff, house-wide and as system level opportunities arise.
Promotion and support of an environment that is conductive to staff growth, development and autonomy.
1)Defines, coordinates, implements, monitors and evaluates a unit-specific orientation program in conjuntion with Center for Education and Development.
2)Fosters ongoing professional development of staff by assisting with performance, assessment of needs and assisting individuals with identification of professional goals.
3)Provides ongoing competency based education process for staff.
4)Promotes and models participateion in educational opportunities.
Assuring / Improving Quality Care: Facilitates the patient right t recieve quality, cost effective care
1)Revises clinical practice based on appliciation of evidence based findings, creating evidence based policies and procedures.
2)Implements monitoring systems defined for the unit to evaluate quality and adequacy of patient care. Implements measures to correct deficiencies.
3)In conjunction with clinical manager, participates in short and long range planning for the unit.
4)Identifies topics for and/or assists in the implementation of research process. Provides relevant education at the unit level.
5)Takes a leadership role in achieving unit and hospital regulatory compliance.
6)Serves as a leader of qulaity improvment teams to evaluate patient safery strategies.
Responsible for professional growth and development.
1)Keeps abreast of current standards of care via literature, education events, internal and external resources, and networking.
2)Participates in activities to enhance professional growth, such as involvement in professional organizations and continuing education.
Licensure:
Nurse, Registered (RN)
Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing • 2 years clinical experience in area specialty. 1 year team lead / Charge experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Current licensure in State of Illinois • CPR
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Incumbent to work full time status during peak operating time. • Ability to coordinate staffing and patient load capacity. • Demonstrates excellent-communication/interpersonal skills. • Ability to function efficiently in a stressful and changing environment. • Resiliency and flexibility to deal with an ever-changing health care environment. • Exposure to body fluids, hazardous material, waste, chemicals, anesthetic gases, life threatening diseases and radiation.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
