Packaging Engineering is responsible for developing innovative and compliant packaging design solutions. Our team conducts feasibility studies and testing of packaging for new and existing products – and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.

What you’ll achieve
As a Packaging Engineer, you will support the development and optimization of packaging solutions, including hands-on design, testing coordination, documentation, and supplier interaction. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams such as product engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, procurement, and packaging suppliers to ensure packaging requirements are met. This role supports packaging for large, fragile products that require robust protection, efficient material usage, and optimized logistics performance. You will assist in packaging testing activities (e.g., drop, vibration, compression), support sustaining initiatives such as cost reduction and material optimization, and ensure packaging solutions comply with regulatory, safety, and sustainability requirements.

You will:
• Support the design and development of packaging solutions for new products and sustaining programs, from concept through qualification and production release.

• Coordinate and support packaging testing activities (e.g., drop, vibration, compression), including execution, data collection, and reporting.

• Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, procurement, and suppliers to ensure packaging requirements are met.

• Support packaging documentation, supplier communication, and implementation of packaging changes into manufacturing.

• Contribute to cost, sustainability, material optimization, and logistics efficiency initiatives while ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.

Essential Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.

• 3+ years of experience in packaging design, development, testing, or related engineering roles (internship or co-op experience acceptable).

• Basic understanding of packaging materials such as corrugated, foams, plastics, and paper-based materials.

• Familiarity with packaging design tools (e.g., ArtiosCAD, TOPS) and basic knowledge of packaging test standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM).

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with compressed timelines, with good communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Requirements

• Hands-on, proactive, and eager to learn.

• Organized with a structured approach to execution and documentation.

• Comfortable working under schedule pressure in a dynamic environment.

• Strong interest in sustainable and optimized packaging solutions
