SUMMARY:

The Patient Access Cashier, reflects the mission, vision, and values of Amplify RCM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This position
reports to the Patient Access Manager. The Outpatient Registration role is responsible for registering patients for outpatient services, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and ensuring accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet and assist patients during the check-in and registration process.
• Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and necessary
authorizations.
• Explain hospital policies, billing procedures, and consent forms to patients.
• Process payments, and co-pays.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Work collaboratively with clinical staff, nursing, and billing departments.
• Address patient inquiries and resolve registration-related issues promptly.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
• Assist with other administrative duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.


WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree is a plus).
• Previous experience in patient registration, medical billing, or front desk operations in a healthcare setting preferred.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Fast-paced hospital outpatient department.
• Requires extended periods of standing and/or sitting.
• Requires moderate pushing, pulling, bending, squatting or lifting 10-30 pounds.
• May require evening or weekend shifts based on hospital needs.
