Summary of Job Duties:

Overnight Summer Counselors are required to work Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM during the duration of the Summer Residential Program.

Provide overnight supervision for high school students residing in the TRIO Upward Bound Summer Residential Program.

Conduct regular rounds of the residential floors to ensure student safety and compliance with program policies.

Enforce curfew and residential program rules in accordance with program guidelines.

Maintain a quiet, safe, and structured environment during overnight hours.

Respond to student concerns, emergencies, or incidents and follow established reporting procedures.

Document overnight activities, incidents, and concerns in nightly reports for program administration.

Ensure students remain in their designated rooms after curfew unless there is an emergency.

Communicate any concerns or incidents to the Program Director or designated staff member.

Assist with emergency response procedures when necessary.

Serve as a positive role model and uphold the mission and standards of the TRIO Upward Bound Program.


Qualifications:

Experience working with high school students, youth programs, or residential programs preferred.

Strong leadership, supervision, and communication skills.

Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and responsibly.

Ability to enforce policies while maintaining a supportive and respectful environment.

Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work overnight hours.
