Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Check schedule for product being produced on line.  Assemble required paperwork and documentation.
  • Set up the oven and bake the product in a uniform manner according to product specifications. 
  • Become proficient with shut down procedures including the emergency shut down procedures associated with power interruptions or failures.  Insure that all charred products are removed from the discharge of the oven so that damage to the product conveyors is avoided.
  • Understand and comply with the allergen policy as set up by the Quality Department.
  • Assure that quality product is produced and released from your area of responsibility. Recognize product quality issues, sort out and reject substandard product, and notify Supervisor ASAP whenever product standards are unacceptable.  Report to Mixer adjustments required to meet the designated standard set in an efficient manner as not to impede production.
  • Coordinate and execute changeovers in an efficient and accurate manner as dictated by the schedule ensuring that the production process is not impeded.
  • Promote teamwork by assisting and working in harmony with others.  Relieve co-workers as needed.
  • Ensure that work area is properly staffed.  Continue in position until you are relieved by management.
  • Properly fill out and maintain all check sheets to insure product integrity to include product diameter, height, temperature,  moisture and proper piece weight. 
  • Adjust product-sizing roller as needed so that the product remains within standard as dictated by the quality attribute sheets. 
  • Notify maintenance and or supervisor of any repairs or adjustment that are required. 
  • Understand, observe and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy.
  • Understand the scrap and assist in the removal of line waste.  Report all accumulated scrap weights to your supervisor at the end of the run, while emptying containers for the next shift.
  • Maintain a clean work area and execute any duties assigned on the housekeeping check off sheets. 
  • Follow and promote all safety policies
  • Assist in the rework of all salvageable products when necessary to include picking scrap off and putting in reusable containers.
  • Responsible for food safety, food defense and food quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain personal cleanliness.
  • Follow proper safety practices.
  • Waste food rotation (clean-up and removal).
  • Rework

Working Relationship:

  • Work closely with Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Clerks, Leads, Production and Supply Chain to ensure that all customer demands are met and the warehouse is seen as an efficient operation.

Supervision:

  • This position reports to the Production Supervisor in the dough area.
  • No direct reports.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand on feet for 8 hour shift.
  • Ability to work around hot temperatures.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

                                                  

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills

Education: HS Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Possess a basic understanding of math and have knowledge of measurements associated with the reading of a caliper or measuring instrument.
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and/or SQF polices
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  •  Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (word, excel, power point)
