The Outside Sales Representative – Nurse Call is responsible driving sales of Rauland healthcare communication and nurse call solutions to hospitals and healthcare systems within an assigned territory. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities and promoting the company’s responder nurse call platform and other related clinical communication technologies. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
- Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new hospital construction, renovation, and upgrade projects.
- Build relationships with hospital executives, nursing leadership, IT departments, and facilities teams.
- Present and demonstrate Rauland’s nurse call and clinical communication systems.
- Manage the RFP (Request for Proposal) process for hospital technology projects.
- Coordinate with distributors, integrators, and internal engineering teams.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities using CRM tools.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and territory reports.
- Attend healthcare industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
- Work closely with project management teams to ensure successful system implementation.
- Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
- Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
- Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field OR 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in healthcare technology or capital equipment.
- Experience selling into hospital systems or healthcare networks.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
