The Opportunity
OSP Lead directs Outside Plant telecom infrastructure projects, overseeing fiber/copper installation, splicing, and maintenance. Duties include managing field crew, ensuring strict safety compliance, and executing mission timelines efficiently. Lead and mentor a dedicated team of technicians in the dynamic field of telecommunications infrastructure. Take charge of critical outside plant projects, from initial planning to successful completion. Play a key role in expanding and maintaining essential fiber and copper networks. Drive the successful execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all aspects of outside plant (OSP) telecom projects, including fiber and copper installations, splicing, and maintenance.
- Manage, schedule, and support field crews to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies on-site.
- Monitor project timelines and milestones, adjusting plans to meet deadlines.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure work meets industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project status, updates, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and utility companies as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently hold an adjudicated Secret and be able to maintain.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance (Security + Certification, equal or higher)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience (with at least 1 year within the last 3 years) with the installation of OSP/ISP within the DoD and Naval shore installation practices.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience (with at least 1 year within the last 3 years) with AutoCAD software.
- Fiber Optic experience desired
- Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for minimum of one year
- Read and understand Blueprints in both hard copy and softcopy using AutoCAD.
- Understand Fiber splicing tools, procedures, and methods for ordering supplies.
- Installation of OSP within the DoD and Naval shore installation practices.
- MS VISIO and AutoCAD experience to maintain network and cable records.
- Have basic understanding in OSP installation practices.
Desired
- BA/BS +3 yrs recent specialized or AA/AS +5 yrs recent specialized or a major cert + 7 yrs recent specialized or 9 years of recent specialized (Outside Plant)
- Current Certified Fiber Optic Specialist (CFOS)
- Certified Fiber Optics Installer (CFOI) or Fiber Optics Technician (FOT)
- Certification from the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) or the Electronics Technician Association International (ETA-I), or an equivalent training certification from an accredited technical/trade/service school certifying Fiber Optic training and qualifications in accordance with NECA 301-2004 Installation and Testing of Fiber Optic cable standards.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$75,200-$158,100
