About Us

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors acts as the governing body for Arizona’s most populous county, functioning similarly to a city council for unincorporated areas and managing a multi-billion dollar budget. The Board of Supervisors is comprised of five elected district supervisors who set the agenda and approve a budget that allocates money to all departments and elected offices of Maricopa County.

Chair Kate Brophy McGee represents District 3 on the Board of Supervisors, which is in the North-Central part of the county and includes Cave Creek Regional Park, and cities from Anthem to Phoenix, and from New River to Paradise Valley. Chair Brophy McGee is a third-generation Arizonan who previously served in the Arizona Senate and Arizona House of Representatives. As a supervisor, her priorities include public safety, election integrity, and economic development.
