Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician II for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Martha Jefferson Hospital

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Status: Full Time (40hrs/week)

Hours: 8:30am-5pm

Performs care delivery and dispensing of medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Participates in the training of new employees
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Experience

• 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
