 As the Outage Scheduler / Project Manager, you will lead the scheduling of planned major plant outages and manage the delivery of assigned Management of Change (MOC) and Engineering Change Request (ECR) initiatives. You will build and govern integrated outage schedules that enable safe, predictable maintenance execution. In addition, you will provide project management leadership to ensure approved projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, with careful attention to risk management.  This role brings together operations, engineering, contractors, and commercial stakeholders to produce executable plans that strengthen asset reliability and performance.

Major Responsibilities:

Outage Scheduling

  • Accountable for integrated outage schedule development and governance, including baseline control, critical path, resource loading, float analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Identifies schedule risks and variances, leads recovery and mitigation planning, and supports outage readiness, execution, and post‑outage reviews.
  • Maintains enterprise scheduling system integrity and ensures outage plans align with safety, regulatory, reliability, and commercial requirements.

Project Management

  • Acts as Project Manager for MOC and ECR initiatives, accountable for scope, schedule, cost, risk, and delivery within approved governance.
  • Oversees execution activities including change control, contractor coordination, issue resolution, dependency management, and performance monitoring.
  • Prepares and presents project performance analytics, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Education Required:

  • Formal training or certification in enterprise scheduling (e.g., Primavera P6, PMI‑SP, AACE) considered an asset.
  • Degree or diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline considered an asset.
  • PMP designation or actively pursuing certification.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency with enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6), including schedule logic development, critical path analysis, resource loading, performance measurement, and recovery planning.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including scope definition, schedule and cost control, risk management, contractor coordination, stakeholder communication, and delivery within established governance and baselines.
  • Experience with cost and performance control in an industrial environment, including forecasting, variance analysis, change control, and performance reporting.
  • Working knowledge of power generation maintenance practices and outage execution models, including safety, regulatory, contractor, and operational integration.

Competencies:

  • Integrated planning & delivery leadership: Develop, govern, and optimize integrated outage schedules and lead MOC and ECR initiatives through defined scope, schedule, cost, and governance baselines.
  • Risk, dependency & change management: Identify and manage project and schedule risks, constraints, and interdependencies, applying formal change control and developing practical mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Cross‑functional coordination: Integrate inputs from Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and contractors into executable outage plans and project delivery outcomes.
  • Data‑driven influence: Translate complex schedule and project data into clear insights and recommendations, leading planning forums and execution discussions through credibility and facilitation.

Location:  ENMAX Place – 141 50th Ave SE, Calgary, AB

Location:   This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
