About the role

  • To function as one point of contact for Haleon’s customers, on all matters related to export orders.
  • They partner with a wide variety of stakeholders to achieve successful delivery to our customers.
  • The role will provide customers with operational feedback and execute a variety of tasks, whilst meeting Customer Service and business metrics and expectations.
  • Key areas of focus and development include quality, cost, reliability, and resilience.
  • This role bridges the information flow from the Haleon Supply Chain to internal sales teams, and then onto customers.
  • The role ensures reliable, consistent, and standard reporting is available.

Key responsibilities

  • Capture and manage all export customers’ orders.
  • Prepare and verify all required export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, customs declarations, and any other regulatory paperwork to ensure smooth clearance and compliance.
  • Manage all export-related activities, including documentation, compliance with international trade regulations, and timely dispatch of goods to export markets.
  • Implement Customer Collaboration initiatives with customers.
  • Agree actions with customers to manage potential supply issues, optimizing available stock.
  • Ensuring customers are aware of Haleon shortages and resupply dates.
  • Manage the business by balancing service and cost-to-serve initiatives by driving efficiency projects with customers.
  • Take active role in communicating demand/supply opportunities and constraints to internal partners and customers; monitors daily operations to ensure business priorities are met.
  • Proactively establish and implement countermeasures to negative trends.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, internal work standards, and procedures.
  • Uses our values and expectations to drive actions and decisions, role models values and expectations.

Qualifications and skills

Required

  • SAP R/3 in OTC area is mandatory.
  • At least 6 months experience in handling export orders from South Africa into Africa and the Indian Ocean islands is required.
  • University Degree or Diploma is preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Customer Service or Customer Management, Customer Relationship Management role

Preferred

  • Tertiary or Customer Service/Logistics /Supply Chain/Customer Management Qualification (NQF level 6 minimum)

Other Skills/Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of business environment and ability to solve Supply Chain issues with Sales team and customers.
  • Experience in Supply Chain operations in an FMCG/FMCH environment is preferred.
  • Proactive self-starter with minimal supervision. Ability to work off own initiative and comfortable with delegated responsibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • PC Literacy, Microsoft Office Skills.
