Job Summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a seasoned test automation analyst to join its ITS team. This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Oracle Fusion ERP cloud platform automation tests. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering automation test solutions, engaging with technical and business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains scalable test automation frameworks for web and API testing.
  • Gathers automation requirements to develop user stories and features, ensuring functional, regression, and integration coverage.
  • Collaborates with developers, product managers, and peers to define acceptance criteria, build test strategies, and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Develops BDD-style test cases using tools such Cucumber and ensure traceability from requirements to test coverage.
  • Validates RESTful APIs using Postman or similar tools; builds API automation frameworks.
  • Conducts exploration, cross-browser, and cross-platform testing and ensures consistent user experiences.
  • Participates in code/test reviews, planning, retrospectives, and scrum calls to advocate for quality and testability.
  • Summarizes test results, raises high-quality defect reports, and contributes to Go/No-Go release decisions.
  • Assists in incorporating AI-based tools to accelerate test execution.
  • Implements functional, system, and program specifications. Assists in revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary, under the direction of more experienced colleagues.
  • Supports the IT development group in building new systems and enhancing existing systems. Assists in coding, testing, debugging, and implementing software solutions. Prepares documentation on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Progressive experience in automation testing.

Certifications:

  • Automation Testing.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Functional experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
  • In-depth and sound testing lifecycle skills.
  • Expert in Selenium Test NG automation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Java, GitHub, Maven, Cucumber, Test NG and Rest API’s.
  • Selenium WebDriver expertise and experience with frameworks, TestNG/JUnit (Java).
  • Proficient in Java and Maven
  • Understanding of the selenium library, unit testing library, and xpath/css and html.
  • Proficient in GitHub.
  • Understanding of testing concepts.
