JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
WORK SHIFT: (Monday-Friday) 7:00am-3:30pm, No Holidays or Weekends.
JOB SUMMARY:
The OR Specialist participates in a highly functional perioperative facility with communication, collaboration, and respect for each other’s roles and skill sets. Collaborates with the Surgery Management team, Anesthesia Team, Perioperative Areas, Leaders and Staff, and Sterile Processing. Responsibilities include insuring operating rooms & perioperative areas are cleaned according to AORN and CDC’s Infection Prevention guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year environmental cleaning in the Operating Room. Experience in an inpatient acute care facility or OP facility required. Successful completion of competency within a defined timeframe.
Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.

Constant (67%-100%) - reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting
Occasionally (1%-33%) - carrying, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc), balancing, stooping, crouching
