About the role

Optimisation Manager

As Optimisation Manager, you be defining and leading a range of initiatives to help us find better ways of working. With a focus on customer outcomes, efficiency and safety you will lead workflow and system optimisation initiatives across Sustainable Business Energy Solutions (SBES) to improve productivity and service quality.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the planning and execution of workforce and workflow optimisation initiatives across the SBES division by establishing clear roadmaps, timelines and governance, aligning stakeholders and vendor capabilities, managing risks, and driving the design and documentation of SOPs to support effective, well‑controlled role transitions.

  • Identify, assess and actively manage risks associated with workforce change to ensure business continuity, developing contingency plans and maintaining robust risk management practices to support resilient vendor‑managed operations.

  • Monitor and evaluate productivity, service quality and stakeholder satisfaction, conducting regular reviews and audits to identify performance gaps and drive timely corrective actions.

  • Design and embed a scalable vendor enablement framework that sets partners up for early and sustained operational excellence through proactive risk assessment, structured onboarding and training, early‑stage performance reviews, and a strong culture of trust, transparency and partnership.

What we would like to see you bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, management, operations or a related discipline, with change management, training and/or cultural competency certifications considered advantageous.

  • Proven leadership experience managing complex transitions, operational initiatives or projects, ideally within global, offshore or vendor‑managed environments.

  • Demonstrated success in establishing, scaling and managing third‑party vendors or outsourcing partnerships, including negotiation, performance management and issue resolution.

  • Strong project, problem‑solving and analytical capability, with experience delivering structured change management frameworks, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Highly developed communication, stakeholder management and cultural intelligence skills, with the ability to influence across diverse internal teams, offshore partners and external stakeholders.

  • Support delivery of EBIT targets by realizing budgeted cost savings and overhead reductions, while exercising delegated authority to execute contractor agreements in line with AGL’s Delegations of Authority policy.

What’s in It for You?

A high‑impact opportunity to lead enterprise‑level transformation, with end‑to‑end ownership of strategy, delivery and vendor partnerships, and clear visibility for delivering measurable commercial and service outcomes.
