As an Optical Manufacturing Engineer, you will apply your technical and operational skills to building state-of-the-art optical assemblies. Learning from our optics subject matter experts, you’ll perform hands-on work to build critical assemblies. You’ll work with optical design engineers to refine and improve manufacturing techniques such as assembly build and bonding. You’ll re-imagine our optics workflows and work with tooling engineers to design and implement tools to manufacture optics at commercial rates. You’ll work to create manufacturing build and flows and build duration estimates for the optics sub-system. You will also work to build optical manufacturing capability within the manufacturing team – helping hire, train, and develop additional members of the optics manufacturing work center. You’ll also work with other optical manufacturing leaders to assign and schedule work within the work center and serve as a first engineering resource in solving problems that arise during optical assembly build.
