The Production Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a gas production plant, ensuring the continuous supply of industrial gases to our customers. This role involves monitoring equipment, performing routine maintenance, and responding to operational issues to maintain plant integrity and product quality.
Job Responsibilities
Plant Operation & Monitoring: Operate and monitor process equipment, including compressors, pumps, distillation columns, and control systems, ensuring optimal plant performance and adherence to operational parameters.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, procedures, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections, participate in safety meetings, and report any incidents or hazards promptly.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including equipment inspections, lubrication, and filter changes. Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions under supervision.
Quality Control: Conduct regular product quality checks and analyze samples to ensure they meet specified standards. Make adjustments to processes as needed to maintain product purity and consistency.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate operational logs, production records, and maintenance reports. Communicate plant status, issues, and production data to supervisors and relevant teams.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage chemical and spare parts inventory for plant operations, initiating requisitions as required.
Emergency Response: Respond to plant alarms and emergencies, following established procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and minimize plant downtime.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with supervisors, maintenance technicians, and other operators to achieve operational goals.
Refrigerator Class B or Operating Engineer Third Class
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an industrial plant environment, preferably in gas production, chemical processing, or a similar heavy industrial setting.
Basic understanding of process control systems (DCS, PLC) and instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and operating manuals.
Proficiency in using hand tools and basic power tools for maintenance tasks.
Computer literacy, including experience with HMI systems and basic office software.
Safety Acumen: Strong commitment to safety and environmental protection. Experience with Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, and hot work permits is an asset.
Problem-Solving: Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Prefered Qualification:
certification in Process Operations, Instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
Work Schedule: Straight days with a willingness to work, weekends, and holidays, and share on-call duties as the plant operates 24/7.
