How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The main object and purpose of this position consist in filling and handling high pressure cylinders in keeping with the safety requirements in order to satisfy the clients’ expectations and ensure that operations are efficient, while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives
  • Prepares empty cylinders for filling:  Sorts cylinders by product and checks for defects. Cleans the cylinders and conducts sniff tests. Replaces labels on the cylinders and inputs data into CMS (Cylinder Management System.

  • Is responsible for filling of cylinders: Is responsible for the start-up and shut down of filling equipment. Connects cylinders, vents, then purges residual gas using a vacuum pump. Fills cylinders according to the Product Preparation sheet  & Product Filling register assigned to the gas being filled. Keeps up with the norms set out for filling and inputs data.

  • Quality/Safety: Promotes ALC’s safety and quality objectives. Knows and respects all safety and quality requirements, policies and procedures to follow while on ALC property. Reports any safety issues to the Production or Safety Manager. Make sure that appropriate corrective and preventive measures are in place in order to answer customer complaints.

  • Ensures quality control: Understands and implements procedures, according to the current operating instructions provided in the TRM (Technical Reference Manual). Ensures the maintenance of cylinders regarding defects, appearance and labeling.  Sends rejected cylinders to cylinder maintenance. Takes part in the daily clean up of the plant along with keeping tools and equipment in good working condition.

  • Participates in work planning and administration:  Records the number of cylinders filled and any discrepancies with respect to the established calendar. Notes irregularities, serial numbers and any pertinent information and sends it to the people in charge. 

  • Process improvement: Works with his/her team and other cross-functional teams to continuously improve work processes. Identifies any non-compliance and causes of problems in his/her activities and proposes appropriate solutions.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Diploma: High school diploma

  • Training: Quality System (ISO), safety, forklift truck

  • Knowledge: Compressed gases, written and oral communication skills, mathematical skills, handling and transporting dangerous materials

  • Experience : 3 to 5 years of experience in the industrial sector
