The role

As a dedicated Technician within the Howden CAP Credit & Surety team, you will assume a vital position, ensuring the seamless functioning and success of both the broking and operations teams. Your role will be instrumental in delivering efficient and high-quality support, enabling the team to provide exceptional service to clients and stakeholders. What you'll do

  • Navigate Howden systems and perform a high volume of accurate data entry, reporting and analysis.

  • Ownership of administration processes and support the operations team with ad-hoc tasks.

  • Organise and maintain records, files, and documentation with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Liaise with clients and underwriters to ensure any queries are resolved promptly

  • Liaise with Brokers and support with any operational tasks, including but not limited to; on-boarding entities, payment queries, licensing queries, credit control.

  • Provide support to overseas Brokers and local operations where required.

  • Collaboration with the IBA (finance) team to support brokers with cash collection and account queries

  • Respond to market and third party queries as appropriate

  • Maintain trackers

  • Support with ad-hoc projects

  • Demonstrate operational excellence and be a catalyst for increased efficiency

Who we're looking for

  • Evidence of good business writing and soft skills

  • Competent IT skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to accurately plan, manage and prioritise a high volume of administration tasks in a timely manner

  • Pro-active and reliable team player with the ability to exercise good judgment

  • Strong communicator with the ability to establish good working relationships with brokers, management and clients

  • Receptive to change

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

  • Resilient and calm under pressure

  • A desire to build a career within the insurance industry

  • Experience gained in an administration or customer service role

  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and demonstrate initiative

  • GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English and Maths

  • A level Grade A-C (or equivalent)

  • Cert/ACII qualified (or a willingness to complete)
