This role is essential in our Flow Cytometry laboratory due to the increasing complexity of operations and new assay validations. Acting as a liaison between science and operations, you will translate scientific requirements into operational excellence, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and success at the bench.
Validation Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Serve as the SME for complex assay transfers, translating scientific requirements into operational processes.
Act as the primary point of contact between operations, the validation center in Brentwood (USA), and scientific validation teams.
Review assay transfers with validation teams to identify operational challenges, refine SOPs, and provide actionable feedback.
Organize and oversee wet lab activities to ensure successful execution.
Monitor assay transfer progress until completion and signature.
Coordinate repeats promptly to minimize delays.
Provide training for team members.
Support the team during the first patient sample runs to ensure smooth implementation.
Instrument Setup and Troubleshooting
Act as SME for initial and recurrent instrument setup, ensuring compliance and optimal performance.
Provide autonomous support and guidance to the team.
Train and develop additional SMEs.
Own all instrument-related processes, including compensation, baselines, and project management.
Optimize acquisition templates for each panel, enabling testing teams to work independently and reducing technical issues.
Project Specialist
Lead global Flow Cytometry projects focused on process improvement and bench testing optimization.
Drive acquisition template optimization to enhance autonomy and efficiency.
Oversee optimization of the Working Solution Logs.
Act as SME for implementation of new platforms, ensuring proper System Life Cycle management.
Review and update SOPs to ensure clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Successful Operations Technical Leads in Flow Cytometry at Labcorp typically have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences is preferred; alternatively, a Medical Technologist degree is acceptable
At least 2 years of autonomous, profound Flow Cytometry experience in validations and troubleshooting (mandatory)
Flow Cytometry certification (considered an asset)
Advanced level of English and French (mandatory)
