Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Operations Team Supervisor – Level 5 to join our team in  << Location >>. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Operations Team Supervisor (OTS) is responsible for direct supervision of manufacturing activities for the Tactical Space System’s Harness Work Center in Gilbert, AZ. The work center is a professional atmosphere in a clean room environment where daily work attire always includes ESD lab coat and latex gloves. Accountable for safety, quality, on the job training, productivity, and hardware delivery schedules. This position reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager and has no direct reports. This is a Second Shift position 3:00pm-12:30am

As a frontline leader, this position works side-by-side with a team of production technicians maintaining a presence on the production floor to influence safe operations and drives adherence to all safety rules, regulations, and standards. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues.

The OTS communicates expectations clearly and initiates necessary actions proactively to ensure that organizational goals and business objectives are accomplished while ensuring company policy directives and operating procedures are being followed.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform operations to build, rework, and repair all products in accordance with required specifications and the Work Instructions pertaining to specific builds written by the work center manufacturing engineer (WCME).
  • Coordinate work with the Work Center Planner and Manufacturing Manager on daily/weekly assignments
  • Work closely with the WCME’s to establish workflow and assign new tasks and set priorities. Elevates program build issues to WCME.
  • Delegates program work to Cable and Harness technicians and moves products to next operations as required. Takes program status daily and elevates any roadblocks to HWC management. Updates program status tools on a daily basis (Synchrono, Tracker, etc.)
  • Assist Production Planner in inventory tracking and raw material usage
  • Lead tool control, 5S, and FOD requirements in the work center
  • Lead maintenance schedules and ordering of tooling for the work center
  • Lead SQDEC; facilitate daily concerns and escalate to Work Center Management as needed
  • Oversee the training and mentoring of new technicians, along with cross training existing technicians to promote a wide variation of WC capabilities. Support process improvement and corrective action plans
  • Maintaining a safe work environment by taking corrective action on any unsafe act or conditions. Ensure employees know emergency procedures to include evacuation routes and gathering points
  • Responsible for establishing safe procedures and providing the protective equipment needed in handling chemicals
  • Ensuring that personnel in the Work Center are aware of all hazards (e.g., physical, materials, etc.) in the work center

  • Other duties as assigned

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 8 years additional education and/or related experience.  Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • No clearance required to start
  • Capable and experienced in working in a broad-based manufacturing environment.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and work with limited supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter, must be self-motivated, and a team player
  • Must have the ability to focus and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and process documentation
  • Must be able to work second shift 3:00PM - 12:30AM

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Aerospace Industry manufacturing experience
  • Experience leading a team of technicians
  • Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, CreoView, Synchrono
  • A strong understanding of wiring processes, crimping, splicing, wire routing and assembly techniques as it applies to NASA standard harness assembly operations
  • Familiarization with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
