As an Operations Technician at our Abbott Distribution Center in Machelen, you will play a key front‑line role in ensuring operational excellence and system reliability. You act as the first point of contact for technical support (Level 1 & 2) within the operational environment and towards equipment suppliers.
You will combine hands‑on technical expertise with strong problem‑solving skills, while supporting safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to operations, collaborating across teams, and making a real impact on daily performance.
What You’ll Do
Equipment & System Support
Monitor, maintain, and support operational equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance
Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance
Troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime and operational disruption
Provide Level 1 & 2 support for systems such as Packsize, Locus, labeling and manual printers
Act as the first point of contact with suppliers for technical issues and repairs
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with Abbott safety standards, EHS requirements, and quality procedures
Accurately document changes, incidents, and maintenance activities
Maintain clear and complete records related to system performance and interventions
Participate in equipment and system validation and qualification activities
Process Improvement & Operational Support
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including new equipment and process changes
Assist engineers in investigating and resolving safety, quality, or process deviations
Perform operational investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurring issues
Support training of operational experts to strengthen first‑line technical support
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to meet operational and service targets
Communicate key information effectively across shifts and departments
What You’ll Bring
Technical qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field
Experience in operations, maintenance, or technical support within an industrial or logistics environment
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
Good knowledge of safety procedures and quality compliance
Proficiency with relevant tools and systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Xiam or similar systems)
Fluent in English and Dutch; French is a strong asset
Team‑oriented, with the ability to build strong working relationships across functions
Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, order, and cleanliness
