The opportunity
Step into a pivotal leadership role at Hitachi Energy, where manufacturing excellence powers stronger, more resilient electrical grids. This role owns end-to-end production performance in a single-phase transformer factory—bringing together safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost (SQDIC) into one clear mission: deliver reliable products, on time, with pride and precision.
As the Operations Superintendent, you will lead daily operations across shifts, align production plans with real-time capacity and materials, and create the conditions for teams to do their best work—safely and efficiently. You’ll champion a culture where continuous improvement is a daily habit, problems are solved at the root, and standards are built to last. You’ll also partner closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Test teams to remove constraints, improve flow, and strengthen customer confidence through consistent performance.
If you thrive on the production floor, enjoy building teams and developing leaders, and feel energized by measurable impact—this is a chance to help shape how critical equipment is built, tested, and delivered to support communities and industries.
How you’ll make an impact
Plan, coordinate, and control daily production activities to meet targets.
Deliver performance across SQDIC: safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.
Balance staffing, equipment capacity, and material availability across shifts.
Track and improve KPIs such as units/day, on-time delivery, scrap, rework, and yield.
Lead a strong EHS culture, including investigations and corrective actions.
Partner with Quality/Test to reduce defects, improve first-pass yield, and resolve nonconformances.
Drive Lean initiatives (5S, standard work, visual management, Kaizen) to improve flow and productivity.
Monitor and improve OEE while supporting cost reduction and budget goals.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your back-ground
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of progressive manufacturing experience.
2+ years in a people leadership role.
Experience in transformer or electrical equipment manufacturing preferred (single-phase oil-filled or dry-type highly valued).
Working knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and ERP/MRP systems.
Strong skills in problem solving, root cause analysis, Lean, and EHS practices.
