Vast is looking for a Operations Specialist, reporting to the Operations Manager, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

The Operations Specialist will support daily office and operational needs by executing assigned tasks, assisting with moves and setups, and maintaining organized, stocked, and functional workspaces. This role is focused on learning Vast’s core systems, safety standards, and operational workflows while helping ensure teams have the space, equipment, and supplies needed to execute.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing, moving, and staging equipment and supplies
  • Assemble furniture and prepare workstations for new hires, including desks, chairs, and file cabinets
  • Support onboarding setups and day-to-day workspace readiness
  • Stock office, shop, and operational supplies as needed
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown
  • Perform basic equipment moves up to 40 lbs unassisted
  • Complete assigned tickets, checklists, and daily task lists
  • Escalate issues, risks, or missing information to senior team members
  • Follow safety protocols and operational procedures
  • Support general office and operations tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in operations, facilities, workplace services, logistics, hospitality, retail operations, or a related hands-on support role
  • Ability to follow clear instructions, complete assigned tasks, and communicate issues promptly
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs unassisted

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience supporting office operations, facilities, events, moves, or workspace setups
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, inventory tracking, or vendor coordination
  • Basic understanding of space planning, workplace safety, and operational workflows
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and task execution skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Positive, service-oriented approach to supporting internal teams

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings, or weekends to support critical mission milestones or operational needs
  • Ability to work in office, shop, and operational environments
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
  • Specific certifications, as appropriate

Pay Range: 

  • Operations Specialist I: $25.00 - $35.00
  • Operations Specialist II: $30.00 - $42.00
