Role Description

The Operations Lead ensures that KONE’s Data Center & Cloud platform services—including GitHub Enterprise, on‑prem Data Center, AWS, and Azure platforms—operate reliably, securely, and efficiently.

This role drives operational excellence, service continuity, automation, cost optimization, and lifecycle management across hybrid cloud environments.

Additionally, the Operations Lead serves as Scrum Master for the platform teams and is a key driver of FlowIT and AIOps adoption, improving workflow transparency, operational efficiency, and intelligent automation across the platform ecosystem.

Primary/Main Tasks & Areas of Focus

Operational Excellence & Service Continuity

· Lead day-to-day operations across Data Center, GitHub Enterprise, AWS, and Azure environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and scalability.

· Manage incidents, problems, and changes in alignment with KONE ITSM processes.

· Drive root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

· Monitor and govern platform health, KPIs, resilience, and security posture.

· Forecast capacity needs and plan platform scalability.

· Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Platform Operations & Engineering Collaboration

· Work closely with Platform Owners, Engineers, and Architects to improve reliability, operational quality, and automation capabilities.

· Promote modern DevOps practices including IaC, CI/CD, and automated monitoring.

· Maintain accurate documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and service descriptions.

· Support platform lifecycle management, upgrades, modernization initiatives, and roadmap execution.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

· Manage and govern relationships with cloud providers, data center vendors, and managed service partners.

· Drive cloud cost management and optimization.

· Ensure SLA adherence and performance monitoring across all providers.

· Provide transparent communication on operational risks, priorities, and improvements to stakeholders.

Scrum Master Responsibilities

· Facilitate sprint ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

· Support Product Owners with backlog structure, prioritization, and cross-team flow alignment.

· Track team KPIs/OKRs and steer continuous improvement efforts.

· Remove impediments and streamline delivery workflow across distributed teams.

· Reinforce Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD), and quality gates.

FlowIT Governance & Adoption

· Champion FlowIT methodology within the platform ecosystem.

· Integrate FlowIT principles into incident, change, demand, and operational workflows.

· Utilize FlowIT metrics such as flow efficiency, lead time, WIP, and throughput to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.

· Embed flow visualization and flow-aligned decision making into team ceremonies.

· Coach teams and stakeholders on FlowIT roles, governance, and optimal flow practices.

· Ensure FlowIT tools, dashboards, and reporting are incorporated into day-to-day operations.

AIOps Adoption & Intelligent Automation

· Lead the adoption of AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) across Data Center & Cloud platforms.

· Introduce AI-driven monitoring, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and automated remediation capabilities.

· Collaborate with Platform Owners, Architects, and Engineers to integrate AIOps tooling into existing telemetry, logging, and event streams.

· Define use cases for noise reduction, intelligent alerting, automated RCA, and auto-healing to improve operational resilience.

· Ensure AIOps insights feed into FlowIT dashboards, operational KPIs, and backlog priorities.

· Evaluate and adopt new AI/ML-based tools that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and delivery speed.

· Promote responsible AI governance and alignment with KONE’s technology and security standards.

Continuous Improvement & DevOps Culture

· Foster a culture of automation-first thinking, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.

· Encourage knowledge sharing, cross-team collaboration, and strong documentation culture.

· Identify opportunities for modernization, cost efficiency, and service quality enhancement.

Required Experience

Technical Competencies

· Strong expertise with AWS, Azure, and on-prem Data Center technologies.

· Knowledge of networking, monitoring, virtualization, storage, and security concepts.

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC tooling, observability platforms, and automation frameworks.

· Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise administration is an advantage.

· Competency in using AI‑powered tools (e.g., AIOps platforms, AI-assisted runbooks, predictive analytics, AI-enhanced monitoring).

· Understanding of AI/ML principles related to anomaly detection, event correlation, and predictive operations.

Leadership & Collaboration Skills

· Strong communication skills in a global, multicultural environment.

· Ability to coordinate complex cross-functional work and lead distributed teams.

· Experience in vendor management and enterprise-scale technology governance.

· Strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Scrum Master & FlowIT Skills

· Solid background facilitating Scrum ceremonies and Agile ways of working.

· Practical understanding of FlowIT concepts, metrics, visualization, and governance.

· Ability to coach teams on flow optimization, throughput improvement, and WIP control.

AIOps & Intelligent Automation Skills

· Experience working with AIOps concepts, frameworks, or platforms.

· Ability to translate operational challenges into AI/automation opportunities.

· Comfortable experimenting with new AI-based tooling and data-driven practices.

Preferred Skills

· 5+ years in cloud, data center, or platform operations roles.

· Previous experience as an Operations Lead, SRE Lead, or equivalent.

· Experience deploying or operating AIOps tooling or AI-enhanced monitoring systems.

· Experience in global enterprise environments with complex hybrid cloud ecosystems.
