Job Summary: About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Chili's Grill & Bar, Yokota AB, Japan.. This is Regular Full-Time position, guaranteed 35-40 hours a week.

Major Duties:

  • The purpose of this position is to supervise Non-Appropriated (NAF) and Indirect Hire Agreement (IHA) employees, in the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) that perform work in the operations of Signature/Name Brand restaurants. Accountable for the quality and quantity of work by employees in both FOH and BOH. Ensures safety inspections are current to include facility, fire extinguisher, preventive maintenance, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other inspections are maintained and documented. Documents and fosters proper maintenance and warehouse practices. Inspects dining, bar, kitchen, grounds (up to 100ft away from building), equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and repair are accomplished and/or to identify minor discrepancies and sanitation problems. Performs other related duties as assigned such as, but not limited to, helping cook in the kitchen. Establishes and maintains minimum stock levels of all expendable supplies and amenities to assure adequate inventory of items to prevent shortages. Manages stock of perishable items to ensure that items are used before expiration dates. Establishes and maintains the appropriate security of high value items subject to pilferage. Responsible for warehousing of expendable and non-expendable backup stocks according to generally accepted supply warehousing and safety policies and standards. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinates and evaluates work performance. Unusual problems or circumstances requiring deviation from general guidelines are discussed with supervisors. Inspects completed work for quality and completeness. Provides initial and continuous training for all employees. Monitors operations in assigned area normally in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Managers, normally at night and on weekends. However, is able to open and close restaurant. Responsible for issuing, receiving and control of cash boxes. Prepares a report of all significant occurrences during the shift. Ensures that only authorized personnel use the facility. Ensures established procedures are followed. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer problems. Inspects and secures at the end of the shift. Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible experience in a military or civilian food service, preferably with Chili's, which provided knowledge of supervising other personnel. Familiarity with ordering supplies, perishable and non-perishable, and checking in deliveries as well as monthly inventory. Supervision experience should be at a sufficient level to ensure knowledge of how and why tasks are performed and to ensure work is performed efficiently and effectively. Must have sufficient experience in BOH operations, including cooking skills. Must have experience, which demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing; and the ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups to accomplish work/tasks. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
