Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Operations Management, Sr. Manager is responsible for implementing business growth initiatives through detailed analysis and forecasts, project planning and strategy development and execution. This position will support Manheim’s Commercial Truck business, dedicated to building process consistency in daily operations, enabling scalable operations and supporting business growth.  This role will lead the development and execution of pricing strategies, drive system improvements and ensure operational excellence through standardized processes. This role will Interact with clients, third-party vendors, and leadership. Over time the Sr. Manager will build and oversee a team of analysts that will collaborate closely with operational leaders, clients and vendors to implement best practices and grow this area of the business. 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Works as a liaison between vendors and Cox Automotive. Facilitates development of relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders

  • Manages the largest and most complex vendor relationships

  • Monitors performance metrics and trends relating to vendor capabilities and operational performance

  • Develop and implement process consistency initiatives across all sites to support scalable growth.

  • Lead the creation and execution of pricing strategies in alignment with business objectives.

  • Identify and resolve system inefficiencies, partnering with IT and operations teams to drive improvements.

  • Build and manage a team of analysts, providing mentorship and leadership to support departmental goals.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to process consistency, pricing, and system effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of new processes and strategies.

  • Reviews metrics and data to identify performance trends and provides solutions for improvement

  • Leads and contributes to functional improvement initiatives

  • Communicates findings, concerns, and resolution plans to key internal stakeholders

  • Develops, implements and tracks the effectiveness of company-sponsored incentives and penalties

  • Facilitates regular operations meeting and process reviews

  • Anticipates and identifies tasks required to support change processing, including performing change impact analysis, assigning tasks to team members, verbally communicating complex issues, verifying that tasks are completed and communicating implementation status

  • Leads medium/large and/or moderately complex projects under moderate to minimal supervision

  • Develops and facilitates presentations for quarterly reviews

  • Analyzes data involving client and location performance

  • Performs research and fact-finding to determine business requirements and specifications for development of operational procedures and systems support.

  • Autonomy - Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions

  • Build strong relationships virtually

  • Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and status reports. Tracks key project milestones and adjusts project plans and/or resources to meet customer needs 

  • Perform planning activities for audit projects, based on risk and objectives to ensure their effectiveness  

  • Execute the audit program with adequate support documentation to complete the internal audit 

  • Stay current on industry trends and re-evaluate program to confirm it is continually efficient and effective for the business

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 8 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 6 years’ experience, a Ph.D. and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or 12 years of related experience.

  • Stay current on industry trends and re-evaluate program to confirm it is continually efficient and effective for the business

  • Requires strong communication and presentation skills

  • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Requires strong proficiency in auction systems including AS400, Workbench, OVE, and Manheim.com

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         BS/BA degree in a related discipline strongly preferred (i.e. Marketing, Business, etc.). 

·         Prior experience in auction operations preferred

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS degree and 8 years relevant experience or MS+ 6 yrs exp; PhD + 3 yr exp; 12 yrs exp with no degree.
