We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee operations for the Nine Canyon Wind Project and the Horn Rapids Battery Project. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in wind energy and electrical, along with proven leadership skills in managing both union and non-union teams.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Manages and supervises at least two operating generation sites/projects, personnel and programs typically < $10M total cost including planning, scheduling, and control of forced & planned outage activities independently along with daily operations, preventative and corrective maintenance. Leads outage & capital project teams of > 10 people. Typically assigned remote complex multidiscipline sites where the strongest leadership is required. Establishes priorities at the site and maintains detailed knowledge of all aspects of the generating units within the responsibility scope or contract. Directs the activities of onsite & offsite teams; maintains a broad knowledge base of new technologies and industry trends as related to assigned projects; monitors operational processes & procedures and recommends changes to improve effectiveness, efficiency and safety; manages site budgets & billings, interacting closely with the finance organization and the contracts organization; coordinates with other site supervisors and line managers; supervise/manage projects and coaches/mentors site personnel. Will be expected to travel and be on call as needed during the operations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide leadership, business management, and oversight to Energy Northwest business and operating generation units assigned. Responsible for establishing, obtaining, and coordinating all activities to meet defined operational and financial goals, monitoring overall performance, coordination with other sites areas and providing leadership for the accomplishment of long-term Energy Northwest objectives.
Assure that a focus on personnel safety, project reliability and efficiency is maintained relative to oversight provided in applicable areas of outage planning, coordination and implementation, operation and maintenance, major maintenance/ capital projects and strategic planning and coordination efforts. Maintain positive relations with customers, state and federal regulatory agencies, public utilities and other various oversight organizations as would be customary and prudent.
Evaluation of work team performance by:
Developing performance indicators which track team performance against goals, schedules, commitments and regulatory requirements.
Communicating team progress, trends, status and changes.
Supporting the effective implementation of the Corrective Action Program.
Provide focus and direction that supports Energy Northwest objectives by:
Assisting in the development, communicating and supporting the vision, mission, goals and standards of performance that are based on upper quartile performance.
Leading development of programs, processes, schedules and procedures that derive safe, efficient and productive work practices.
Assuring administration of bargaining unit contracts is consistent and that labor issues are addressed and resolved promptly.
Assuring appropriate staffing and qualifications are maintained.
Work directly with the assigned station management personnel to prepare performance objectives and monitoring tools for station personnel and equipment. Consider and evaluate recommendations/options and make/facilitate decisions relative to performance optimization of major equipment/systems and processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, construction management, project management, business management or related field and ten years of supervisory, project management or leadership experience in the utilities/energy or industrial industry.
Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree on a one-to-one basis.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Pay Range
$141,070.00 - $211,604.00 AnnualMidpoint:
$176,337.00Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
