Provide leadership to operations to ensure all safety, environmental, production, quality, and cost objectives are met in alignment with the business strategy and direction
Develop and execute an implementation plan to achieve world-class manufacturing excellence in the operating area assigned
Participate in business planning, operating (incurred) & capital budget creation with peer managers and monitor, communicate, and forecast variances from financial performance targets
Manage optimal headcount required to meet business needs and overall site productivity goals, while driving certification rates to ensure efficient labor utilization
Review and approve Management of Change, variances, purchase requisitions, and capital projects as applicable
Develop and mentor your direct and indirect staff – Front Line Leaders, Area Process Coordinators, and Inventory Control Teams
Collaborate with peer Leadership Team members to ensure a consistent implementation of manufacturing expectations and standards
Collaborating with Value Stream Leaders, Asset Management, and Production/Maintenance Coordinator (PMC) to develop and validate production schedules for execution
The following are required for the role
Experience managing direct reports with the highest ethics and credibility
Proven safety leadership track record leading teams to reduce safety exposures and transforming the working culture of teams into an interdependent level of safety culture
Proven quality leadership record to transform cultures to produce repeatable products that meet our most specialty customer requirements
Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the Chemical manufacturing industry
OR Minimum 5 years’ experience of leadership in the manufacturing industry with a (4) year professional degree
Experience leading within a Union environment
Working knowledge of general and cost accounting principles or the equivalence in combined education and experience.
Prior experience implementing or working in LEAN operations structures
Lean Six Sigma project management (DMAIC), coaching/mentoring, with quantifiable growth/process/operational improvements
Ability to present comfortably to the highest levels of the organization, including the ability to relate material to the audience with relative examples and analogies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent understanding of Microsoft business software, SAP, Team Guru, Minitab, Pi, etc.
The following are preferred for the role
B.S. in Engineering, Business, Science, Math, or relevant experience
Experience leading an exempt workforce
