Plant Operations Manager – Lead with Purpose, Drive Performance

As an employee of Bega Group reporting to the Site Leader in Tatura, you will manage a site and team within a joint venture involving Bega Group, Tatura Milk, and Snow Brand, with a focus on producing Infant Nutrition Formula.

As a values-driven leader, you will coach and mentor your team, fostering strong relationships and promoting a culture of high performance while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental and cost standards.

We are looking for a Plant Operations Manager who is dedicated to empowering individuals, achieving results, and creating a safe, engaged, and future-ready workplace.

Our Tatura site is an icon in the region, well known around the world for its quality dairy products. As well as being the country’s largest producer of cream cheese, it also produces infant formula, nutritional lactoferrin, various milk powders, plus our famous single serve butter. 

This position is site-based and requires attendance five days a week, with flexibility regarding start and finish times.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a zero-harm culture by embedding proactive safety leadership and visible commitment across the site.

  • Inspire and develop a capable, engaged team by coaching supervisors and emerging leaders to align with business goals and grow their potential.

  • Drive operational excellence by delivering production, yield, and OEE targets through smart scheduling and resource optimisation.

  • Simplify and improve processes by leading the site’s continuous improvement agenda to enhance throughput and efficiency.

  • Align plant operations with strategic goals, ensuring seamless integration with broader business and supply chain priorities.

About You:

  • A hands-on, decisive leadership style with a passion for people and performance, within a FMCG background.

  • OPEX or LEAN background with launch and/or deployment experience.

  • Proven ability to foster a positive, inclusive culture that motivates teams and builds capability.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on long-term reliability and innovation.

  • A commitment to role-modelling company values through constructive behaviours and adaptive thinking.
