🔸 3+ years in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environment
**YOUR MISSION** 🚀
Leading sub-contractor plant operations across area of responsibility to ensure consistent delivery
in production, quality, safety, sustainability and cost efficiency
Business Excellence, delivering cost efficiency & operational effectiveness.
- Ensure all the Operations SOPs are implemented in all Service Centres (Handling, Storage and Inventories, Scrap, Inspection and Conditioning, subcontractor evaluation).
- Cost entitlement model information of fixed and variable costs (raw materials, productivity etc)
- Achievement of handling and production/quality capability requirements, as well as storage capacity optimisation and expansion, to support optimal plant network flow optimisation of S&OE / IBP. Sourcing and managing external collaborators as required.
- Drive Operational Excellence through a Lean and Continuous Improvement culture. Utilising PDCA-cycles and Value-mapping, drive problem solving, and ideation to solution.
Technology & Digital, through automation and innovation
- Engage with Process Engineering team regarding new developments, acting as expert in the plant operation to identify risks and propose improvements in design and conditions.
- Ensure implementation and accomplishment of new Digital projects rolled out into the plants (COLT, Targeted & Continuous Diagnostics) supported by Central experts leads.
- Collaborating with SCEx/Engineering/Digital in meeting qualification and verification targets, and to improve processes in KPIs such as PR%/MTBF.
Customer experience, through quality & service
- Audit conditions and processes as per quality management system, and products to deliver all the above accountabilities. Coordination of action plans to reduce quality complaints. Support the Global Quality team as an expert in timber products.
- Ensure compliance with NIMF / ISPM15 requirements, whilst optimising yields/processes
- Assure product availability and plant handling/turnaround performance to support DIFOT/CIFOT
Customer value, supporting business growth
- Support Commercial teams to deliver business growth (new markets and/or new products), taking the lead of all trials to be done. Support the implementation of FMS/LMS strategic initiatives, acting as the main contact for vendors.
- Support PNO initiatives on possible plant relocations and/or new sites.
People & Partnerships
- Implement good practices and behavioural changes in Subcontracted operational sites to ensure high Safety and Quality standards and autonomy. Train the plants on Standard Work and Safety procedures and audit them accordingly.
- Preparation of plant visits for Brambles Leadership teams, shareholders and customers.
Safety & Risk mitigation
- Support the Global H&S team as the main contact for subcontract plants. Ensure compliance with Chep H&S& Risk Policy and run the audits related to safety procedures.
- Communication of Safety alerts and best practices occurred. Drive safety and risk improvement program, supporting the BCP (business continuity planning) process.
- Compliance to legal and regulatory requirements and information requests
Decarbonisation, through sustainability enhancements
- Promote decarbonisation strategy and enable deployment of program through our subcontractors, including zero waste to landfill, energy monitoring, solar panels, e-flts, etc
** WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**🔎
- Engineering degree and/or LEAN certification is preferred,
- 35+ years in a plant leader/supervisory role in an engineering, manufacturing, or logistics warehousing environment. Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics,
- Expert people/supplier management capability (inc. non-exempt production workforce).
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience managing safety performance and programs,
