JOB SUMMARY

Lead and drive continual improvement on the Jabil site, leveraging all the tools and resources of the Jabil Lean Six Sigma organization. The Operations Excellence Manager will support the Site Leadership Team to drive improvement in all areas of Jabil’s Operations.  The Operations Excellence Manager will be the subject matter expert on all LEAN tools, supporting all functions implementing LEAN initiatives, practices and routines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive LEAN Six Sigma Culture:

  • Drive the introduction of LEAN Six Sigma culture through the understanding and application of tools
  • Direct the site’s efforts in driving performance improvement and ensuring the site culture embraces the concept of principles-driven continuous improvement
  • Support the content creation of the Lean and Continuous Improvement training for Leadership and the shop floor.
  • Assists Managers in delivering LEAN training as requested
  • Supports and mentors Black Belt and Green Belt training
  • Drive towards the creation of LEAN ambassadors on the shop floor, extending your network of influence.
  • Participates in Reward/Recognition - Develop local recognition program with HR to drive broad participation of all employees in continuous improvement.
  • Support cross-region or company improvement programs as needed
  • Provide remote or direct support for other sites in Lean Six Sigma Management as needed.

Evaluate Site Metrics, Feedback and Lean Processes:

  • Develop the required metrics, KPI and PI, ensure continual improvement is sustained.
  • Track key metrics and ensures integrity of operational indicators (OEE, OLE …)
  • Manage & drive key processes (VSM, QRQC, 5S, Hoshin, SMED, Kanban, etc.)

A Subject Matter Expert in Jabil Processes and Applicability of Lean Six Sigma Principles, Values, Philosophies and Tools:

  • Support site & regional management create the annual business plan, identifying key improvement priorities to enhance site and Jabil performance in the eyes of all stakeholders
  • Work across all Operations, Business, Supply Chain, Design and Finance functions to create synergy within the enterprise with a clear line of sight on improvement of Jabil enterprise
  • Monitor external manufacturing landscape to stay updated and aware of industry best practices and how they can be deployed inside Jabil

Assists in the development & deployment of standardized policies & procedures

  • Drive transformation activity in all areas of the site through the use of Model Areas
  • Gather and define best practices from inside and outside the company, leveraging global resources and benchmarking our competitors. Lead the review of those examples, ensuring they are shared and deployed across all sites.
  • Reviews all site projects for learning opportunities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experienced in successfully deploying Continuous Improvement programs (Lean and Six Sigma) in an operations environment.
  • Strong Knowledge in Lean Principles through formal training
  • Excellent Leadership and Communication Skills
  • Track record showing continual improvement of personal skills
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in all areas related to operations.
  • Solid knowledge on Quality Assurance implementation with solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Results-driven change agent
  • Ability to communicate in all media forms and cross-culturally
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence all levels of the Jabil organization
  • Organizationally astute, but not politically motivated
     

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 7 to 10 years experience in Manufacturing Management, Engineering Management or Project Management
  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certified by recognized organizations in the industry (e.g. ASQ, SME, Shing Prize), Green Belt minimum
  • Experience in change management
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
