About the Role
In this key technical role, you’ll monitor, maintain, and optimise our enterprise network environments, ensuring our core systems operate at peak performance. You’ll act as the primary escalation point for network-related incidents, supporting a range of technologies across LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, cloud services, and network security platforms. You’ll also contribute to technical documentation, operational improvements, design discussions, and the delivery of infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and optimise the organisation’s LAN/WAN/WLAN network infrastructure
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, including root-cause analysis and long-term remediation
Support firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, and access points (Cisco, Meraki, Fortigate, Palo Alto etc.)
Perform regular patching, vulnerability management and configuration reviews to maintain strong security posture
Assist with network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects
Create and maintain SOPs, knowledgebase articles, diagrams, network documentation, asset lists, and configuration records
Act as the escalation point for Service Desk and high‑priority network issues
Collaborate with external MDR teams to investigate and resolve security incidents
Work with third‑party suppliers and internal stakeholders to progress and resolve technical issues
Support capacity planning, performance analysis, and service continuity initiatives
Ensure compliance with organisational procedures, security standards, and change control processes
Taking ownership of assigned projects and operational improvement
Capabilities
Strong background in network operations, network administration, or infrastructure engineering
Experience with enterprise networking technologies (Cisco, Meraki, HP, Aruba, etc.)
Hands-on knowledge of routing & switching technologies (OSPF, VLANs, STP)
Experience managing firewalls (Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortigate etc.)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds etc.)
Good understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, wireless technologies
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical issues
Technical Requirements
Ideally, you’ll have experience or certifications such as:
Cisco CCNP Enterprise
Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist (CMSS)
Palo Alto PCNSA
Firepower / Network Security experience
Hands‑on experience with configuration, installation, and maintenance of network systems
Familiarity with backups, DR, release, and deployment processes
Experience with cloud networking (Azure/AWS)
