Job Summary     
Supports unit Director and unit by performing administrative and operational tasks to ensure smooth office and departmental functions, including payroll processing, responsible for routine clerical duties, recordkeeping, calendar and meeting coordination. May be required to perform related duties as necessary.  

Essential Functions     

  • Assists in or conducts basic studies and analyses of operations, programs, organizations, and procedures.  
  • Assists in preparing basic final reports, recommendations, and other informational resources for the improvement of an organizational element or its program.
  • Assists in liaising between the program and other internal or external persons to maintain communication channels.
  • Assists in collecting, compiling, and organizing data pertinent to various basic, ongoing studies.  
  • Assists in conducting basic studies and analyses of work processes and systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or GED certificate.


AND
 

Experience: Six (6) months of experience supporting an operations or administrative functions is preferred

OR
 

Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities     

  • Basic knowledge of English usage.
  • Basic knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data.
  • Basic knowledge of basic analytical principles and techniques.
  • Ability to prepare and present basic reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain basic working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
  • Ability to learn an agency’s purpose, programs, and operations.
  • Ability to collect, compile, code, edit, classify, and tabulate basic statistical and qualitative data.
  • Ability to prepare and present ideas and information clearly yet concisely

Additional Information

Background Check   
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening, and must be successfully completed.

Probation
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-month mandatory probation.
