Job Summary: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at JBSA Randolph AFB. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hrs/wk. May work up to 40 hrs/wk. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as operations assistant for the Community Services Mall that supports functions in Outdoor Recreation programs and Arts and Crafts programs for a community of approximately 45,000 active duty military, family members, authorized retired personnel and DoD civilians that make up the community. Maintains suspense files, contract files, financial data, and statistics on patronage and participation trends. Periodically updates files and ensures disposition of files are accomplished according to file plan. Maintains time and attendance records, inputs duty schedules, makes necessary adjustments. Prepares all forms used in the operation. Monitors daily cashier reports, verifies deposits and keeps manager informed of financial performance. Accomplishes end of month inventories of high value inventories, and spot checks other items to maintain accuracy. Responsible for protection of assets and financial resources. Maintains accountability, coordinates purchases, and maintains NAF P-Card book and APF GPC book, purchase orders utilizing IBPS for NAF purchases and ABSS for APF purchases, BPA 's, work orders, maintenance contracts, and environmental compliance in the operations. Required to sign for change fund, collects specified charges, account for secure deposit monies received and prepare activity reports as required. Controls petty cash transactions, cashiers and recreation assistants. Receives supplies and equipment, signs receiving reports, requisitions, vendor tickets, and cashiers reports. Orders resale, supplies and equipment items as required. Assist with property and resale inventories. Establishes and ensures internal controls are maintained. Establishes and oversees inventory par stocks to ensure that inventory levels are kept at a minimum. Maintains computerized inventory system, including cost cards, on all resale items. Uses own judgment to forecast proper inventory levels. Provides financial performance data to assist manager in preparation of budget. Performs other duties as required. Applicant must have experience of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which had provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions of a Community Center/Mall. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): You qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. 2. Knowledge of customer service. 3. Knowledge of cash handling/be able to make change. 4. Knowledge of Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) accounting and systems (NAFRIS, SETS, IBPS, ABSS). 5.
