Job Description

Position Overview:

The Operations Administrator position coordinates and leads the inventory control, quality assurance and warehousing aspects of the business.  This will require a general knowledge of raw materials and finished goods, a solid understanding of injection molding and blow molding equipment to ensure that machines are utilized to their maximum potential. 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 

(Warehouse)

  • Follows and adheres to all Food Safety requirements within the plant. 

(Quality Assurance).

  • Ensures proper documentation and usage of all different types of resins.
  • Demonstrates organizational ability to complete daily assignments.
  • Has a basic knowledge of preform, as well as bottle/pallet defects including both visual and non-visual problems.  Must know the correct procedure to follow to alert management of potential problems to assure that defective product or raw material is not used or shipped to the customer.  Has the authority to stop production due to quality issues.
  • Has the authority to stop machines/production to communicate issues to QA Manager, Supervisor, Lead.
  • Has a basic understanding of blow molding process.
  • Understands and follows procedures for sampling, sample collection, sample storage and sample disposition.  Follows vendor-specific procedures as required.
  • Maintains housekeeping of assigned area.  This is especially important in a lab setting where sensitive chemicals are used and where sensitive equipment is located.  Housekeeping may also involve clean-up of other areas of the Plant, as required by the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Communicates effectively with customers (both internal and external) regarding quality issues.
  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as trained during the various safety-related training programs.  Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers/Supervisors.  Properly uses all required personal protective equipment.

(Inventory Control)

  • Processes receiving documentation and generates reports using a computer system.
  • Notifies customers of discrepancies between items received and actual invoiced amount.
  • Enters all ordered items following written procedures.
  • Monitors stock levels of finished goods, raw materials, and dunnage.
  • Completes required documentation for inbound resin orders, both trucks and rail cars.
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external customers.

(Administrative)

  • Serve as point of contact for handling all facets of the transportation function from customer orders to deliveries
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education:  High School Diploma or GED   
  • 3 years of experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills
  • SAP and Real SPC knowledge (preferred)

Relationships:

  • This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
