THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Zalando platform enables merchants (brands, retailers, distributors) to sell fashion articles directly to the Zalando customers (online marketplace). The Operational Success team's purpose is to enable partners to achieve higher commercial success and customer experience through operational excellence on the platform, while ensuring the highest level of visibility and availability of their assortment.

As Operational Success Manager, you will be responsible for the operational performance of a pool of merchants, from integration and article onboarding to logistics. In this role you will be the sparring partner of the Partner Consulting team in charge of this pool of merchants. You will bring your expertise in operational processes, taking over complex edge cases and helping coordination with internal stakeholders to continuously drive for better operational performance and commercial success.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Offer consulting services: Proactively identify and drive performance improvement initiatives with your responsible portfolio of merchants 

  • Operational excellence: Be the go-to person for any operational topic for Zalando commercial and operating teams, ensuring efficient partner operations on the platform and making it easier for partners to further entrench their business with Zalando

  • Solution driven: Deep dive into the Merchants’ operational challenges and derive suitable solutions

  • Analytical: Derive actionable insights from data analysis and discussions with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Stakeholder management: Synthesize and present performance figures to Zalando commercial teams and senior management, manage timelines and expectations

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You hold a degree from a top-tier university in Business, Supply chain management, or Engineering related fields.

  • You have gained at least 3 years of relevant experience working in a major consulting firm or a fast moving ecommerce start-up environment

  • Work experience in operations, supply chain or key account management is a must

  • Work experience in external stakeholder management (merchant or customer facing portfolios)

  • Work experience with technical integrator business or third party services/ platform ecosystems is a big advantage

  • You have excellent analytical and synthesis skills with a strong drive for problem solving and to get things done

  • You have strong stakeholder management and excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • You have gained professional efficiency in both spoken and written English
