About the role
Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and analytical Operational Resilience Manager to join their Operational Resilience & Business Continuity team.
You will be at the forefront of the improvement and management of our Operational Resilience capability, which includes ensuring HL remains compliance with the regulatory rules. You will liaise with key stakeholders in the business, providing support and oversight to important business services, including the identification, triage and tracking of remediation plans for operational resilience vulnerabilities (ORVs) across all the resilience pillars.
What you’ll be doing
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the oversight framework for Operational Resilience.
- Governance: to assist in preparation, organisation and secretariat the committees at HL level regarding Operational Resilience, in liaison with HL relevant teams.
- Reporting and Monitoring: to provide independent Operational Resilience reporting and consolidated view to HL Senior management and supervisors; to alert Senior Management and stakeholders on critical points for attention.
- Awareness & Training: to promote and drive awareness of Operational Resilience across HL.
- ORV Triage & remediation tracking
- ORV ingress oversight across third parties, change, audit and risk opinions to identify ORVs.
- Support the maintenance and governance of HL’s Self-Assessment
- Ensuring HL's Important Business Services, Impact Tolerances, Resources and Supporting Capabilities are discovered, logged, approved, mapped and gap assessed again emerging regulation.
- Gather and implement Industry insights through HLs membership of The Investment Association and other forums.
- Support HLs responses to FCA requests for information
- Administration of Operational Resilience tooling, including developing the tooling capability and ensuring licence numbers remain within contract requirements.
- Maintenance and governance of all resilience policies and standards, aligning with the groups policies and risk appetites, including continuous improvement against industry best practice.
About you
- Experience of working within, and having a thorough understanding of, financial service environments from an Operational Resilience perspective.
- Accomplished in forging effective relationships at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating, and managing challenging conversations with ease.
- Strong, influential communicator, articulate and excellent verbal and written skills.
- Solution focused mindset – with the ability to use own experience to develop innovative solutions and resolve complex issues.
- Regularly looking to continually improve your own, and the wider team’s performance, actively promoting change and continuous improvement.
- Ability to deliver in a fast paced and changeable environment, demonstrating resilience to pressure.
- Technically proficient with a thorough knowledge of MS products. Experience of Snowflake and CL360 will be advantageous.
- Able to work in a team or independently, collaborate effectively to achieve common goals.
- Skilled at managing conflicting priorities in a busy workload, whilst delivering high quality results.
Interview process
This will be a two-stage interview process, including competency-based questions and a presentation.
Working Schedule
The Operational Resilience Manager role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is 12-month fixed term contract, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
