Operational Meteorologist

We are seeking an Operational Meteorologist to provide on-site and remote meteorological support for a premier global weather-sensitive project. You’ll combine forecasting expertise, communication skills, and on-the-ground presence to deliver real-time insights that help customers make better operational decisions in dynamic environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the lead on-site meteorologist for international weather-sensitive events.
  • Analyze and interpret real-time data from the Tomorrow.io platform (radar, models, sensors) and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Work closely with remote meteorologists and internal teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in weather communication.
  • Support customers globally through:
    • Forecasting and writing weather briefings.
    • Issuing weather hazard alerts.
    • Leading weather briefings and providing direct communication (chat, email, calls).
    • Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers, becoming an integral part of their operational decision-making process.

What You Bring

  • BSc or higher in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of operational meteorology experience, including mesoscale and synoptic forecasting, preferably in a sports and/or live entertainment capacity.
  • Expertise in convective, winter, and tropical weather forecasting across multiple global regions.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills, able to turn data into clear guidance quickly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; confident presenting to customers and leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Experience supporting sporting, aviation, or transportation operations is highly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally at a significant frequency throughout the year (approximately 70–90%).
