This is an exciting and pivotal opportunity for a confident and highly experienced individual to join the Credit Risk Technology team as an Operational Excellence Lead. As a key member of a small, impactful team, you will act as a catalyst for a profound cultural shift in the organisation, empowering teams to truly own and continuously improve their Ways of Working (WoW). By championing the intelligent use of existing data and metrics, you will coach the teams in moving beyond mere compliance to genuine insight and action, fostering a culture of self-management and continuous improvement across the Credit Risk domain.
In parallel with this cultural and data-driven shift, this role will be instrumental in helping transition our organisation towards an AI agent system and LLM-driven solution led landscape. You will be part of the team who will orchestrate the discussions to form the transition plan towards this new model. A core focus will be on actively partnering with Sub-Domain, Chapter and Change Leads to drive discussions around any changes to the front to back Ways of Working (WoW) and help to formulate the comprehensive transformation roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Empower teams to own and improve their Ways of Working (WoW) by leveraging existing data for genuine insight and action, moving beyond "tick-box" exercises.
- Guide teams in adopting principles of flow, transparency, and continuous improvement, promoting self-organization and accountability through data.
- Take a lead in discussions to form the transition plan towards an integrated AI agent system and LLM-driven model, managing the evolution towards a hybrid operational landscape.
- Partner with stakeholders to drive discussions to assess and adapt front-to-back WoW, specifically integrating AI and agentic systems.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and ethical AI guidelines, evolving governance models for both traditional and AI-driven solutions.
- Serve as a conduit for best practices, actively partnering with Product, Engineering, Architecture Chapters, and Change Leads to align and embed improvements.
- Review and adapt meaningful metrics to track operational efficiency, quality, reliability, and the impact and progress of the AI transformation of a Technology department.
Skills
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in change execution or transformation roles with a strong focus on guiding organisational change in complex technology environments
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and influencing teams to interpret and effectively leverage existing key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making, moving beyond a compliance or "tick-box" mentality.
- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimising operational frameworks and processes within a large-scale enterprise that has undergone significant technological evolution.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate at a senior level, with proven experience in successfully driving roadmaps and delivery of large-scale Regulatory, Risk, Data, or Technical Programs, demonstrating clear business impact through insightful data analysis.
- Experience working in Technology or Change for large Investment Banks, dealing with Banking Products, Data, and Systems, with a track record of driving process improvements that yield tangible benefits, quantified and understood through data.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in enterprise settings, with the ability to envision and even implement AI-enabled solutions that drive new WoW and process efficiencies.
- Benefit to have knowledge and experience of the Risk or Finance domain, specifically an understanding of the credit risk lifecycle, Limit Management, Rating Methodologies, and Recovery Management, and how these contribute to overall business performance and how
- Experience in writing simple SQL queries for analysis would be a great enabler to perform the role well, particularly for measuring and demonstrating business impact and facilitating team understanding of data.
- Good to have complimentary technical skills on Oracle, Python, Java, Angular.
- Good to have knowledge on Data Analytical tools of Tableau, Qlik, for reporting on process performance and business outcomes and enabling teams to explore their data.
