The Operational Excellence Intern supports the Continuous Improvement team in analyzing operational processes and implementing efficiency initiatives across logistics warehouses and distribution centers. The role provides hands-on exposure to Lean methodologies, operational data analysis, and process optimization while working closely with operational teams and regional stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Analysis & Operational Diagnostics
Support the analysis of operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Conduct time studies, process observations, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
Participate in Gemba walks to understand operational challenges directly on site.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Assist in the implementation of Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
Support Kaizen events and problem-solving workshops with operational teams.
Track improvement actions and monitor operational performance through defined KPIs.
Operational Data & Performance Tracking
Support operational data analysis using Excel and Power BI.
Contribute to the development of dashboards and performance reports for warehouse operations.
Identify performance gaps and support data-driven improvement initiatives.
Process Mapping & Layout Optimization
Develop process maps and workflow documentation using tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
Support warehouse layout analysis and optimization using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
Standards & Operational Excellence Culture
Assist in the development and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Support operational audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
Contribute to promoting a culture of continuous improvement within operations teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Someone with:
Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Industrial Engineering, Quality or related field.
Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
Strong proficiency in Excel (data analysis).
Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
Familiarity with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart).
Basic knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies. Interest in Lean Six Sigma certifications (Yellow Belt or Green Belt ) is an asset.
Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Curiosity and willingness to learn.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Interest in operational improvement and logistics processes
