The Position

Roche is committed to developing and supporting the next generation of talented individuals. The Opening Up Roche (OUR) summer internship program is designed to unleash potential, irrespective of background, and to embrace unique stories and perspectives.

Roche Pharma Technical Operations (PT): PT is Roche's pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The departments include Supply Chain, Cell & Gene, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Strategy, MSAT & Engineering, Manufacturing, Development, Finance, and People & Culture. The internship will provide the opportunity to learn the basics of working in a regulated environment and to navigate a multinational company like Roche.  Based on the availability of projects, there may be the possibility of also exploring the Product Development (PD) space.

Duration: The positions are full or part-time, and the internship runs from the 6th of July to the 5th of October 2026. Please note that you must be available for the in-country kickoff at the start of July and for final presentations during the week of the 21st of September (in person). 

Location: Switzerland, Germany, or the UK. Depending on your proximity to the respective offices, the work format can be in person, virtual, or hybrid. The candidate should hold work permits or visas to work in the UK, the EU, or CH. Travel to Basel is expected, and Roche will support obtaining the required travel permits/visas. 

Qualifications: Currently studying for a Bachelor's and Master's degree. 

Skills:  We seek students who enjoy teamwork and think outside the box.Team players willing to share their ideas and find solutions to challenges while considering their own and others' perspectives.

Application Process: 

The OUR was developed for students who may find it difficult to advance through university and into a career due to barriers. This program will provide career opportunities while removing obstacles. The application process is split into three main phases -  

Phase I: Cover letter & CV 

Our focus in this first stage is to understand why you applied for this role and what you will bring to ensure team and personal success. As part of your cover letter, Roche is keen to understand how you would bring your unique self to Roche and why you are applying for this position.  You should try to address the following points:

>> If you had to choose a single example or achievement in your life that shows your unique self and would make you suitable for this role, what would it be and why? 

>> How does this unique experience and perspective contribute to fostering inclusion and belonging in a professional setting?

Your cover letter and CV should be in English, and the Cover letter should not exceed one page. 

Phase II: Video Interview (Expected dates: Week commencing 7th April)

  • You will be required to answer a few questions within a short period. This video will be recorded and shared within Roche.

  • The questions are designed to elicit your unique perspective on the world.

Phase III: Virtual Interview (Expected dates: Week commencing 20th April)

  • Two interviewers will converse with you to get to know you better and give you a deeper insight into the program.

  • The focus will be on how you could contribute to Roche and the growth opportunities we see for the candidate.
