You will be responsible for the following:
Strategic leadership — defines and executes payment partnership strategies to increase authorization rates and customer conversion.
Commercial acumen — deep understanding of the acquiring ecosystem, including card scheme rules, interchange models, and merchant discount rates (MDR).
Compliance awareness — knowledge of data analysis, card scheme rules, PCI DSS, and PSD2, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations.
Cross-functional collaboration — in cooperation with internal stakeholders, ensures cash-in/cash-out is compliant with the financial ecosystem while supporting the needs of customer-facing product and operational teams.
Risk and fraud management mindset — strong understanding of fraud prevention, chargebacks, and card scheme requirements (Visa/Mastercard, and the ability to define and track KPIs and SLAs.
People leadership — builds and manages a high-quality team with the right resources and expertise for monetization and operational tasks.
These are the tangible outputs and accountabilities of the role:
Optimized payment performance — higher authorization rates, reduced transaction failures, and improved conversion through intelligent routing and payment orchestration.
Merchant acquiring strategy — a clear plan for how merchants are signed up, onboarded, and served. This covers how merchants are found, onboarded, trained, and supported, as well as how risk associated with them is underwritten.
Payment cost efficiency — relevant payment cost and health metrics monitored and improved, including interchange optimization and fee management.
Compliance framework — a developed, implemented, and maintained compliance framework ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and scheme rules.
Partnership management — in cooperation with the Payment Partnerships team, manages the relationship and operation of all enabling service providers, cultivating executive relationships.
KPIs and reporting — defined and tracked KPIs and SLAs for operations teams, alongside performance data shared with senior leadership.
Scalable infrastructure — a robust, secure, and expanding digital acquiring platform capable of supporting multiple payment methods, geographies, and merchant segments.
