As the Oncology Franchise Head, Lung Cancer (Alliance) for International markets, you will orchestrate cross-functional teams, align evidence generation, and launch readiness, and set the pace for pre-launch and launch excellence across geographies. Can you turn joint strategies into decisive actions that unlock access at scale and raise the standard of care?
Accountabilities:
Co-lead franchise strategy and execution with alliance partners through robust joint governance, shared objectives and aligned operating rhythms, act as the principal International point of contact for partner leadership
Own the International Cross-Functional Tumor Leadership Plan (TLP), go-to-market commercialization and growth strategies across tumor types and indications, with a primary focus on effective alliance co-leadership and joint value creation
Partner with global and alliance counterparts to ensure International needs, evidence requirements and market realities are embedded in global and joint strategies
Drive execution of the International oncology brand strategy; aligned with global and joint governance decisions, and tailored to market objectives, ensuring clarity on joint versus AstraZeneca-alone accountabilities
Hold overall accountability for cross-functional brand strategies and plans, optimizing revenue, volume, margin and access across the portfolio and geographies while adhering to alliance agreements, including governance, financials, and decision rights
In partnership with cross-functional team members and partner counterparts, co-develop clear pricing and market access strategies, diagnostics strategies, and medical plans; ensure aligned evidence generation and launch readiness
Engage Areas and key markets to build capabilities, drive pre-launch, launch excellence, and deliver priority local initiatives within joint frameworks, including co-promotion models where relevant
Build and own international launch preparation and resourcing guidance for MCs for all new indications, integrating partner resource planning, MLR alignment and shared KPIs
Lead rapid cross-market dissemination of best practices with joint learning agendas and integrated performance dashboards in collaboration with partners
Co-own brand objectives, priorities and strategies with the Oncology Business Unit and alliance partners; proactively identify and resolve cross-company issues and risk areas
Monitor and analyze brand performance, sales and disease indicators across Areas and top markets using joint data-sharing protocols and agreed analytic methodologies
Support Regions, Areas, and Markets in key business planning activities (RBUs, QBRs, MTPs, LTPs), synchronizing with partner planning cycles and joint governance milestones
Identify and shape future partnership opportunities and lifecycle value drivers; develop full business cases and interface between external and internal stakeholders in line with alliance terms.
Ensure compliant and efficient joint agency engagement, including co-owned budgets, spend tracking and reporting aligned to alliance financial frameworks
Essential Skills/Experience:
Senior commercial leadership: General management/P&L in sizeable businesses (i.e. Franchise Head in Large Markets; BUD in Smaller Markets); extensive product launch track record
Oncology expertise: Deep knowledge of oncology and strong external network; ability to represent AZ with institutions and scientific societies
Cross‑functional influence: Experience across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical; proven ability to challenge and drive change with senior stakeholders
Emerging markets acumen: Commercial experience in and above market; understanding of healthcare systems, regulatory, medical aspects; pricing and access across diverse markets
Strategic and entrepreneurial: Strategic thinking, innovative mindset, strong business, and financial acumen; ability to coach and develop large teams; influence decisions across markets/functions
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Above country experience or experience in more than one market
Commercial experience in emerging markets including understanding of various healthcare systems and Regulatory, Access & Medical aspects of pharmaceutical industry
Experience of building and managing (BD) partnerships
Experience on co-promotion, alliance management
