The team called CPU (Cross Product Utility ) is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and performing critical processing and reconciliation functions, leveraging knowledge of banking and securities operations. This role involves helping a Team manger for analysts, ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of tasks across various departments, and acting as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. The role will drive continuous improvement in processes and workflows, ensuring team adherence to high standards and contributing to the overall achievement of company goals.

This role demands leadership, exceptional communication, and diplomacy skills to manage and prioritize evolving information and guide team members. A comprehensive understanding of relevant laws and company policies is essential to identify potential risks, propose new guidelines, and ensure compliance within the team's operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work and oversee the team's control and monitoring activities, ensuring independence from payment and settlement functions. Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external inspections and audits within the team's scope.
  • Ensure meticulous monitoring and accurate recording of customer asset segregation processes by the team, in strict compliance with Japanese regulations. This includes supervising data collection, record-keeping, calculations, reconciliations, and ledger postings.
  • Manage Nostro reconciliation processes for the team from a centralized perspective, including the development of manual reconciliation methods for systems not integrated with the main reconciliation platform. Act as the key contact for teams involved in money reconciliation.
  • Supervise the processing of payments to external vendors based on invoices approved by the securities department.
  • Spearhead the creation, development, and implementation of robust internal rules and guidelines within Markets Operations for the team, aimed at mitigating risks and ensuring strict adherence to both local and global regulations.
  • Assume responsibility for supporting business teams in their assigned operational areas, guiding the team in providing expert and timely assistance.
  • Contribute significantly to, and often lead, projects focused on procedural changes and solution delivery within the team's domain.
  • Responsible for promptly reporting any identified control gaps or operational problems to senior management.
  • Proactively identify control weaknesses and implement appropriate measures and solutions to reduce potential risks or losses, mentoring team members in these efforts.
  • Influence decisions across departments by providing expert advice, guidance, or services, and empower team members to contribute their expertise.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for staff, managers, and internal (front office) or external clients for complex issues.
  • Persuade and influence others through exemplary teamwork and communication skills; may also lead negotiations with outside parties on behalf of the team.
  • Deeply understand and consistently apply Citi’s core principles and values in daily work, fostering team adherence to these principles.
  • Ensure that all business decisions consider the company's reputation, maintaining strict compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policies, and exercising sound ethical judgment in behavior and business practices. Clearly report and manage any control issues to protect Citigroup, its clients, and its assets, instilling these values within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7~10 years of relevant experience in the financial field,  Team lead experience is preferred ..
  • Fundamental understanding of financial products, accounting, and regulatory policies is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent activities/projects, and to effectively lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • PC skill (Excel, macros preferred). Is required .
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
  • Possession of Securities Sales Representative Qualification (証券外務員資格) preferred.
  • Possession of Bookkeeping Level 3 (簿記3級)certification preferred.
  • Native Japanese language skill and basic English communication skill is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

職務内容:

  • 支払・決済機能から独立した立場で、チームの統制およびモニタリング活動を監督・サポートします。また、社内外の検査・監査のマーケッツオペレーションの主要窓口となります。
  • 日本の法令を遵守し、顧客資産の分別管理プロセスが正確かつ綿密に実施されるよう各決済チームと協働します。これには、データ収集、記録保持、計算、照合、元帳への記帳の監督が含まれます。
  • 一元的な視点からチームの銀行勘定照合等のプロセスを管理します。資金照合担当チームの主要連絡窓口となります。
  • 各証券部門が承認した請求書に基づき、外部ベンダーへの支払処理を行います
  • マーケットオペレーション内において、リスク軽減と国内外の規制厳守を目的とした、強固な内部規則およびガイドラインの策定、開発、導入を主導します。
  • 手続変更やソリューション提供に焦点を当てたプロジェクトにおいて、中心的な役割を果たリードする役目をします。
  • コントロールの脆弱性を積極的に特定し、潜在的なリスクや損失を軽減するための適切な対策と解決策を導入し、これらの取り組みをチームとして進めます。
  • 時に複雑な問題に対し、スタッフ、マネージャー、社内(フロントオフィス)または社外顧客の主要な連絡窓口およびエスカレーションポイントを務めます。
  • 優れたチームワークとコミュニケーションスキルを通じて他部門と協働し、あし・また、チームを代表して外部との交渉を主導することもあります。

資格

  • 金融分野における関連実務経験7~10年以上(チームリード経験があれば尚可)。
  • 金融商品、会計、および規制に関する基礎知識があれば尚可。
  • 複数のタスクやプロジェクトを並行して管理・優先順位付けできる能力、および急速に変化する環境でチームを効果的に牽引できる実績。
  • PCスキル(Excel、マクロ(VBA等)の知識必須)。
  • 優れた対人関係スキルおよび書面・口頭でのコミュニケーション能力
  • 証券外務員資格の保有者歓迎。
  • 簿記3級の保有者歓迎。
  • 日本語はネイティブレベル、英語はビジネスにおける基本的なコミュニケーションスキル(読み・書き)が必須。
