Key Responsibilities
This role involves undertaking strategic and financial research activities emanating from various products and solutions teams at State Street. The role encompasses:
Tracking industry trends and issues
Competitor research and market intelligence
Tracking and analyzing regulations impacting the overall business
Lead or contribute to the development of high-quality deliverables, including presentations, reports, and other materials
Analyze ambiguous data/information and present in a clear and crisp manner to business leaders
Provide product capability comparisons with competitors and niche players’ offering in the market place and identify gaps, strength, weaknesses, and differentiators
Ideate, author and support thought-leadership topics with SMEs
Provide support for new product concepts ranging from market opportunity analysis to help in developing business cases
Provide positioning and content for products and solutions
Track regulatory updates by SEC, FASB and other industry & regulatory organizations that will impact products and services across US, EMEA and APAC
Decipher regulations and assess the impact on asset servicing products and solutions, and produce regulatory update reports
Skills & Knowledge
Qualification & Certifications
6+ years’ experience in investment management/ servicing industry or, in general, financial services industry, MBA/CFA/CA preferable
Prior experience working with consulting companies or in internal corporate strategy teams working with the C-suite
Prior experience leading engagements (market entry, growth, regulatory impact, investment cases) from scoping to completion
Well versed in applying consulting frameworks and research methodologies to create strategy deliverables
Excellent secondary research and data analysis skills, with strong attention to detail
Primary Skills (Must Have)
Good knowledge of investment management/servicing industry
Excellent proficiency with MS Office, including structuring, charting and visualization
Experience with producing content for and presenting to the executive-level
Experienced professional, eloquent, organized and disciplined; effectively work in a globally diverse and matrixed environment
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines and effectively execute in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proactive approach to problem-solving; Self-motivated and goal-oriented
Excellent communication skills and written skills. Must have the ability to comfortably interact & communicate with all levels of the organization
Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
Experience in conducting primary research (e.g., interviews, surveys, internal expert consultations) to complement secondary research.
Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or basic SQL/Python for deeper insights.
Awareness of emerging technologies and digital trends (e.g., fintech, AI, blockchain) relevant to financial services.
